A Message for You

Dear Reader,

Thank you so much for visiting Visual Concepts Photography.

After 30 years of serving the Greater Annapolis area, I’ve decided it was time to step down from family sessions as well as branding/headshots. Instead, I am focusing all my energies on Annapolis Boudoir Photography, which is a place where women are empowered, where they fall in love with themselves and where they embody confidence, love of self and a renewed sense of energy.

Never in my wildest dreams in 1994 when I hung my shingle that it would be on one amazingly beautiful ride!! I remember studying at  AACC, and my business teacher hired me to photograph his family! It was my first gig!!  My business teacher’s wife showed the photos at work and her friend hired me to photograph her family and then recommended me to photograph her brother’s wedding!! It had been my intention to photograph weddings in 5 years, after I had experience under my belt. The Universe had different plans. I had the summer to prepare. I remember working through a How to Photograph Weddings book during my vacation time at Bethany Beach. That fall I shot my first wedding and from there it mushroomed into wedding photography spanning over 20 years.

My love of photography knew no bounds. I photographed families, weddings, school photography, sports photography and on it went. However, somewhere along the way, I fell in love with newborns and children and spearheaded a fundraiser to benefit AAMC NICU UNIT through the L’il Angel Calendar. Over a span of a few years, we raised over $100,000. It is something that will always be near and dear to me, and together we made a difference in the lives of the tiniest, most vulnerable patients. I am so incredibly proud of this project.

Somewhere around 2000, digital photography made its entrance. I started out with a 35 mm camera, graduated to my square format Bronica, and then had to learn how to shoot digitally. I went in screaming and shouting but, in the end, fell in love with it.

As with anything, I knew that the time was approaching that shooting weddings wasn’t for me anymore so I  focused in on families, children and headshots at my farmhouse which I had purchased in 2007. For the next few years, my focus was building up my business in these genres and, as much as I loved it, I knew it was time to switch gears. In 2020, I started Annapolis Boudoir Photography and finally found my heart. Nothing pleases me more that to see a woman feel so amazingly beautiful when she sees her photographs and it is here that she is transformed. I knew that I wanted to put all my efforts into this genre which I encourage you to explore by visiting my website:

As you can see, I haven’t yet fully retired as my passion to photograph is as alive and well now as it was when I picked up my first SLR and as long as my clients believe in me and want me to create gorgeous images for them, I will always be at their disposal.

For those of you who are my past clients, I want you to know that I am forever indebted to you in believing in me and allowing me to be a part of your lives. I’ve met so many amazingly wonderful people and for that I am eternally grateful. Thank you for trusting me to create your memories and know you will always have a special place in my heart.

Love and light,

Lin
